Attending the Colorado Springs, Colorado Lift-Off balloon festival, I noticed that many of the balloon pilots liked to descend and "dip" their gondola in the adjacent lake before resuming their flight. To really do justice to this as a photographer, it would be necessary to be either precisely positioned on shore or in a boat in direct proximity, so I decided to attempt to create a realistic animation using PTE. The last image in this short series shows my animation results. The balloon descends while flying toward the observer, makes a small "splash" as it contacts the rather still lake then with a blast of hot air begins the ascent as the ripples from the splash-down begin to spread. Of course there is the reflection of the descending and ascending balloon in the water as two nearby balloons descend toward the observer.  A fun animation to figure out and create....

Ride to the Wall is an annual act of Remembrance by ' Bikers ' from all walks of life. to remember their lost mates, and raise much needed funds for the National Memorial Arboretum.

Found Found a piece of music that got my old juices flowing. Put pics and video from several adventures from the past to the music with an eye towards video and how much I could could shrink it and yet keep good HD quality and still stay within the megabits limit. Orkney is an archipelago off the North-east coast of Scotland. We had a fairly brief stay on Mainland, the largest island including Skara Brae, a Neolithic settlement on the west coast of Mainland, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  Amongst places visited Scapa Flow and Ancient Standing Stones.

Prior to our customary autumn visit to the Scottish Highlands, we decided to take a look at some of the fishing ports and villages on Scotland's East Coast between St Andrews and Inverness.  Res: 1920x1200.

In the 1960s the landscapes of the desert of Tabernas developed into a sought after movie location, well known productions such as King of Kings (1960), Cleopatra (1963), and the winner of seven Oscars, Lawrence of Arabia (1962), all used the desert as a backdrop during filming, attracting big budget Hollywood directors such as Steven Spielberg who chose Almeria for scenes in his blockbuster movie Indian Jones and the Last Crusade (1989) starring Harrison Ford. Sergio Leone, the director of the famous Spaghetti Westerns, starring Clint Eastwood, also capitalised on these unique landscapes, scenes from A Fist Full of Dollars (1964), For a Few Dollars More (1965), The Good The Bad and The Ugly (1966), and A Fistful of Dynamite (1972), were filmed in the western village movie sets as well as the surrounding desert and other well suited spots throughout the remarkable terrains of the province.

More holiday snaps from the southern counties of Britain, this time Devon and Dorset with, perhaps, a few 'strays' from the neighbouring county of Somerset.  Res: 1920x1200.

Simple slideshow of holidays pics taken on a couple of visits to Cornwall, altho' I suspect there may be one or two 'strays' from the neighbouring county of Devon.  Cornwall was the setting for the novels of Daphne du Maurier also the popular TV series of Poldark and Doc Martin.

I was inspired by Lin Evan's post using an old file to demo how well this PTE program worked years ago. This file I posted in 2004, 15 years ago. It was one of my first and I was worried about the reception as it was very personal. The old show shows how well PTE even in it's early stages worked. Anyway, it's just a demo of how well PTE worked 15 years ago and how wonderful it is today. 

I've posted this years ago but I was never satisfied with the show. I've touched it up and added two video files 1920x1080 that show how well PTE now incorporates video. 
This part of the western US is still quite unspoiled with adventure available at every turn. 
The file is quite large as I use a 43" screen to edit so I have to keep the files fairly large to enjoy myself. Anyway, I hope some of you enjoy the show.
