Namibia is among the prime destinations in Africa. The most visited places include Fish River Canyon, Namib-Naukluft NP, Etosha NP, the Caprivi Strip and some coastal towns as Swakopmund, Walvis Bay and Lüderitz.

This is a brief summary of our trip to be at the Menin Gate at 11-11-11 2014.

The last week of October this year in the far North-West of Scotland proved to be extremely wet and windy. However, there were occasional breaks in the clouds...

West Coast Highlands of Scotland.

A short walk in the National Trust "Allen Banks" reserve in Northumberland to see the autumn colours.

Rothenburg Ab Der Tauber is situated in Baveria. It is one of Germany's best preserved medieval towns. Why is it so well preserved? Why was it spared in the Thirty Years War? Because of Der Meistertrunk. What is that? You will have to watch the show to find out.

The Helix in the Falkirk District of Scotland. the most visible feature of the development is the two unique structures know as THE KELPIES.

A documentary with pictures taken on two trips to the Farne Islands. The commentary was read by our local community warden and was the first time she had done this for me. It lasts about ten miutes and is about 70mb in size.

The Bernina Line was built between 1908-1910 and in 2008 was classed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, in recognition of the incredible engineering and beauty the line offers, with inclines of up to 7%, being one of the steepest adhesion railways in the world.

Today the Bernina Line is part of the Rhaetian Railway network with the Bernina Express running daily throughout the year, via the Bernina Pass.

One of the most beautiful cities in the world, admired by many.

Colorado is a very high altitude state. It has the highest average altitude of any state in the USA with 637 mountain peaks over 13,000 feet and 53 over 14,000 feet elevation. On these high mountain peaks are some amazingly hardy animals including Rocky Mountain Goats, Pika (a tiny cousin of the rabbit) Marmots, a variety of birds, etc. There are also fragile wild flowers, moss and other vegetations. In the winter the snows are deep, over 20 feet, with sub zero freezing temperatures and extreme winds so the burrowing wildlife hibernates while the goats seek lower elevations to spend the winter months. Mount Evans is 14,268 feet in elevation and every year after the goat nannies (also regionally sometimes called ewes or does) have their young called kids at about 10,000 feet elevation. When they are strong enough, the nannies bring them to the high summits to enjoy munching on the fragile vegetation above the altitude range of most predation.

I've climbed every year to the tops of a number of these peaks to photograph the wildlife. As I've gotten older and less able to climb, I spend more time on Mount Evans which actually is accessible by paved road to over 14,100 feet. Long focal length telephoto lets me get up close to these wonderful creatures. This show was made with beta 18 of PTE 6.0 several years back, but I thought it might be of interest

After I posted my previous Bungee-SloMo show, Tom asked how the bungee jumper was retrieved after the jump, I discovered I had a clip of a bungee jump from another angle and it shows how they are retrieved. This is a short video clip of a retrieval. The video is from a Hi8 tape that I digitized so the quality is not very good, but I hope it entertains. It is a good thing that they don't just drop them off at the bottom with the crocodiles!

While creating this show, I learned a bit more for presenting videos by using the Video and Border menu. It was very helpful in trimming off the fuzzy edges that you get when you digitize Hi8 tape (at least it happened to me).

This is a PTE show with only video. The goal of this production was to create a show with a slow-motion video clip that is inserted into the main video. I also wanted to see if I could do it with a fade-in and a fade- out of the slo-mo video. The slo-mo portion of the show was created in the trial version of ProDad ReSpeedr. I cropped out the logos that the trial version puts in. The video quality is not too good because it originally was a Hi8 video that I digitized. Just hope you enjoy it. Comments, of course, welcomed.

This is a short/ small history of the Sheffield Cutlery trade from the standpoint of "a little mester " himself. (Little mesters were people who ran their own workshops usually one man bands and did sub contracting, especially in the cutlery trade). Spoken by Bert Housley MBE. Also what happened to a famous Sheffield Factory. It is a joint effort by our AV group. Made originally for our photo society's 150th birthday exhibition.

The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo 2014. Some of the slide quality is less than I would have liked due to lighting that, while superb for the show was not really good enough for photography even at 6400iso. However the viewer can see how the show went and in my opinion this year was one of the best for a while.

10 000 years ago, the Sahara was a lively savannha.
So are many deserted places, still inhabited by the ghosts of the past...

From Usuhaïa (airport) to Perito Moreno (Glacier), some pictures of my trip across Patagonia (south of Argentina).
