London
By tva1840
Could be said it's a show of two halves (to coin a phrase :-) ). Didn't want it to be too touristy, so changed the mood and added some street photography. It's not a new sequence as you will note from a few of the images. Hope you like

Bushland Botanical Artistry
A number of visits to the local Botanical Gardens and quite a lot of time spent trying to get the flow of images just right. The balance between the image, the music flow and the transition. Some images shot specially for the differential focus techniques.
The images were all shot with a Sigma 105mm macro lens

Imagine
This slide show was first posted in 2011, but when I viewed it the other day I find that it still remains one of my favourites. I changed one image and that's all. I believe that if you can watch a show you made 3 years ago and not want to pull it apart and change it, then perhaps that is telling you it's OK. Well it's OK for me and we have to please ourselves first and foremost.
There are certain parts of the world where animals from millions of years ago are long extinct, but the surrounding country, rocks, trees and vegetation is often just as it was millions of years ago. If you apply just a small amount of imagination, you can be transported to Jurassic Park in Tamborine Mountain Australia.

Shoreline
This slide show, although relatively short look quite a time to make. Its not made in the traditional way at all. Every image was individually selected and placed one at a time on the time line. I hardly every use the Slide List these days preferring to work in the TIME LINE. It just suits my way of working. I watch the transition between each image over and over again, changing any that do not look right to my eye. I take into account the transition time and transition style, the appeal and especially that the transition is right with the music.
Often images are created specially for the slide show and once the show was completed, it was watched again and again over a 2-3 week period. I must have viewed the show 30+ times and every time I would tweak an image, a transition or one of the times until I could watch it and not want to make any more changes. Someone said of it that it was too short, so I suppose I can take that comment as some sort of compliment. However, we can always make a second show, but there is no coming back from a situation where the viewer has become bored or reached for the escape key.

Definately in the wild and wacky category. What do you do on dreary winter days when the snow and/or floods lay deep around you. Well play with Photoshops Gradient Tool, layers, blending modes, filters and other chicanery. Supposed to be humorous, hope you agree.

Schools Out - Surfs Up
A slide show by Beckham Digital. www.beckhamdigital.com.au
The images were all shot in one location and on one evening. The location was Noosa National Park, Queensland Australia. The vantage point here (when the surf is right) allows the surfers a very long surf at right angles to the beach, which is pretty good for photography. Of course it helps a lot when the surfers are so good at their sport too. Good shots were easy to capture this evening and we actually went there for a sunset that didn't come off.
A combination of the right place, the right time, the lighting was bright, but not too contrasty and some great surfers were on the water.

Scotland
By Mark Allen
Easter 2013, I went on my first photography holiday to the Glencoe region and the Isle of Skye with a friend from my camera club. The weather was almost perfect, sometimes we complained that the sky didn't have any clouds! I am used to having only minutes to take my photos, as result of 15 minute rest and toilet stops on a coach trips. On this holiday I had all the time in the world. We left our B&B at 9am and didn't return until 10pm. We had planned and researched the trip meticulously and well in advance. We had everywhere we wanted to visit with GPS coordinates, routes, etc. We didn't worry about waiting for 30 mins for the light to change. Almost everything was taken on a tripod. I had my 2007 Nikon D300 with a Sigma 10-20, and Nikon 18-200VR. I also had my 2009 Nikon D700 with a 24-70 f/2.8 and 70-200 f/2.8 VRII. I also had my iPhone 4, which I used with a tiltpod and 645Pro app or ProHDR app.
The images in this slideshow contains were half taken with the D300 and half with the D700. There is also one iPhone image, I bet you can't tell which!
V6 achieved 2nd place and a PAGB Sliver Medal in the NIPA AV Festival 2014. It was the first time a 'Photo Harmony' sequence achieved a medal. The judges were Malcolm and Maggie Imhoff, and it was clear that they were proud supporters of the photo harmony genre. Previous judges often outlined their belief that a sequence with narration was merely a slideshow and not an Audio Visual, and that with good narration and added sound effects any image/music sequence would never win at competition level. The Imhoff's were a breath of fresh air, they considered such 'dictates' as outdated and simply wrong. In his feedback Malcolm suggested that I could improve the sequence by removing the six images in square format. I initially replaced these with only images, but it didn't flow well, so I went back to my raw files and created landscape versions at 16:10 instead of 1:1. This is the final result, I hope you like it.

Cars
By tva1840
Driving down good ol' Highway 1 from San Fransisco to LA, last September. Stopped off in Monteray and found a classic car rally going on. So filled my memory card and this is the result. The music is self explanatory. Though some of the very old cars were photographed on Route 66 which happened later in my tour. First trip to the states in 30 years.

For those who dont know the nickname ' Hovis ' is given to anyone in all branches of the UK Services. So named after a very famous brown bread loaf of the 30's and 40's.
My friend Alan [ Hovis ] Brown visited China in October 2013. He allowed me to create a presentation with his pictures.

Colours of Burano
By tva1840
Taken on a trip to Venice. The sequence was first put together in 2010/11. One of my earlier works. Slightly altered later. Burano used to be a fishing village, now of course it's main purpose is a tourist destination. Hence all the colourful houses. I can recommend it for a trip out for anyone visiting Venice.
