Response from the author: Hi Jim. I was surprised by the road on this particular trip. I've been up and down it since the 80s and this was totally new. In the past you had to go into Canyonlands NP from the top. It was a pain if you really only wanted to drive the one mile section of the NP to get to the spur trail leading back to Moab. I once nearly blew my top in 1997 when they wouldn't let me drive that one mile because I had my great dog Buck in the car. No dogs on any of their dirt roads. I was glad to find they finally changed the road a bit so you didn't have to mess with the NP. I'll get part two out soon. And thanks for stopping by.
