  1. My late wife Sherry had Native American (Cherokee) ancestry and was an avid collector of Native American Indian art. For 35 years we traveled across the southwest USA to various reservations where we traded with native craftsmen and got to know many of them quite well as friends. I spent many years doing gallery art photography for many museums and galleries in the southwest and still stay in touch with a number of well-known artists. These are some of my images of exquisite American Indian art... I shared Sherry's love for both the art and culture of our indigenous people...

  3. Ultra High Def.  If you have an UHD monitor or TV then you will enjoy this.  Obviously it won't look much different on a smaller monitor.  I use a 43 inch UHD TV for my monitor.     Melancholy music due to the fact that I feel all things changing, and not for the better.  Enjoy it all while you can.   MAC version at HD or 1920x1080...much smaller file.  One of the fine points about PTE is that it will display the show nicely on your computer no matter what the size. File size is 109 megs...MAC version is 45 megs...

  11. Filters applied to images have not been very well accepted in the digital age and some of the blame for that can be laid at the door of some photographers. Those who think that adding a filter effect to a badly composed and exposed image, will make it appealing. Sadly, it will not.
The trick, in my view, is to use filters to create something more unique and for that we need to put in just a little effort, thought and creativity.  The technique for creating the images you will see in this slide show is available as a video download from our Photoshop MasterClass section HERE

For audio experts, sorry recorded on my iphone. For Photoshop experts - I did what I could but don't look too closely. Having said that i hope you enjoy.

  16. Being a wildlife photographer, I spend many hours in hides and some of these not very productively. During recent wildlife photography trips, I have been taking images of the landscape around where I photograph the wildlife and have tried to make a slideshow of what I see on my visits. Never having made a slideshow before, I have relied on a lot of help from members on the forum, a really big thank you to all who helped. So if you can spare a little over three minutes of your time, please take a look.

Most of the images are in my local area of the Derbyshire Peak District.
YouTube always seems to compress videos so I apologise if some of the images are not as sharp as I would have liked.

For those that might be interested the photos were taken with a number of different cameras - Nikon D300 (APS-C) , Nikon D700 (Full Frame) , Fuji X-T1 (APS-C)  and an iPhone 4.

I bet you can't pick out which one was taken with a mere iPhone!

  19. My son recently returned from trekking to and from Everest Base Camp  and asked me to create a show from his photographs.  As it is mainly a record of HIS walk, it is rather longer than usual at 7.5 minutes.  Format 16:10.

  20. A cacophony of pandemonium; sights, sounds and smells, people and pollution, resulting in a sensory overload.  The poverty and rubbish are in sharp contrast to the armed guards at gated hotels, where there is not a single leaf out of place.  On the streets; the children, who seem to have nothing, are happy and clean.  It's confusing, sometimes most disturbing, but a wonderful place to visit and (for me) a once in a lifetime experience.

Following Barry's advice, I re-visited this show that was V1 in 2015.  For some reason, it just didn't work for me.  But it now does in V2.

  22. As the father of the bride, I was warned many months in advance, that I was not to spend the day with a camera.  So; as a gift to my daughter, I sought out a suitable 'professional wedding photographer' and paid for his services.  This took some time, checking out their work and the feedback they had received.  I live in Ireland and my daughter was getting married in England.  Eventually, I came up with 3 photographers and asked my daughter to choose.  To my delight, she chooses the guy I liked best.  On the day, he was superb, relaxed, confident and just did his thing in the background.

All I have done in this slideshow is put together some of Andrew's mono work, with appropriate music.

  24. Evolutionary time is almost impossible to imagine
The original of this sequence used 3 full screen video clips, but unless it was viewed on a powerful desktop, the video was not smooth enough for my liking. When shown on a moderate Laptop, the video full screen does not work so good. Hence the reduction of the video to insets rather than full screen. In my view the video is a vital part of the whole thing with the music
